Our sole water source here at the farm is a spring. Bacteria notwithstanding, it's neat to be taking a shower & picture the water coming from a crevice in the rocks just down the hill.
We don't drink it right now because we need to build up the containment box to keep out runoff, etc, but it's fun to feel "sustainable" when it comes to our water.

We bought some recreation property after we got here. One of the things we liked was that there was a small spring on the property. All through the dry summer there was always water in it. It's pure as can be coming straight from the top of the mountain where nobody resides. JoAnn

We thought there was a spring source on or property in the mountains. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. Maybe if we did deep enough!

We lived off grid for years, and built a spring up for our only water source...we were healthier than most from our PURE water.....

Jen-

Your own spring on your property? That is such a blessing! I am sure you are terribly excited to get the rest of the spring developed so it can be drinking water too. I love fresh from the ground water- I grew up drinking water from a huge artisian well that has the sweetest water you can imagine. I wonder how the spring water would measure up to artisian water...

Cider vinegar is such a great rinse - we call it the poor girl's conditioner!

and if you compound it with not using shampoo or conditioner and instead use baking soda and something like ACV or honey or egg for a rinse you are pulling double sustainability duty!!

I've noticed that, Clare! I figured it would leave my hair heavy with mineral deposits or something, but no! My (coarse, curly) hair feels better than ever!

Jen, there's nothing better than spring water for washing one's hair. Figure out how to filter it for that, at least!
