Hi girls!

My name is Connie, and I am farmgirl #673. I am a regular on the farmgirl connection forum and have met MANY wonderful women there. I have recently just discovered this forum as well, and am glad to be here.

I am 40, with 2 boys, ages 21 & 15. I have a wonderful husband, 2 beagles, Ollie & Daisy that we rescued from our local shelter 3 yrs ago. I have an African Sideneck turtle named Henry (or Henrietta, not sure if he's a she or a he, lol)

I purchased Mary Janes Lifebook in 2005 from one of my bookclubs, and instantly fell in love with it. It was in that book that I found the farmgirl connection.

Not having much family, when I found the Lifebook, I finally felt that there was someone else out there (Mary Jane), living the life I wish I had. I couldnt even believe at the time that I found something I so profoundly related to in my soul. Needless to say, when I found the farmgirl connection, I couldnt believe that there were SO MANY girls out there, like me!

I went to work so many times talking about Mary Jane, the farmgirl connection, making butter, or my latest sewing project, etc...and most of the time I'd get weird looks. It was obvious that they had no idea what the passion was all about, the simplicity of it, the beauty of it; how sad for them I'd think. I dont feel out of place when I'm around Mary Janes farmgirls in the forum, I feel I am exactly where I am suppose to be.

I love gardening, harvesting seed, growing crops from seed, making butter, sewing, and basically try to be as self sufficient as possible. We rent our house, so I can't do most of the things I'd truly like to (like build an outpost). I recently bought the rest of MJ's books, and just LOVE them! the outpost is so inspiring, I wound up camping out in the yard several nights ago. I LOVED it. To reconnect with nature, is a truly beautiful thing.

I hope one day to buy a camper and travel, as I have never traveled before. I'd love to camp out by a lake, fish, perk coffee, make a campfire meal, etc. That would be beautiful. I'd love to take a break from the computers, phones, tv's and video games.

I am a small business owner. I have a bath & body product line that I make all by myself. From product manufacturing, label design, paperwork, taxes, everything! I plan on adding soy candles next spring. I am also running a promo for 25% off all orders until Sept 5th if anyone is interested. See my website below. Enter AUG20 at checkout.

Sorry for the long post.
Have a great evening!
Connie

Our growing season was decent. I need to re-work my garden soil though. I got some good tomatoes and some zuchinnis that were really nice sized. I wish my strawberries would have lasted longer though!

Hi Connie!

Yikes! Things have gotten hectic the past few days!

Sounds like you are one busy gal! What is your favorite activity to do outside?

Welcome to the Outpost, Connie! I'm Elizaray! I am in my late 20's and have one little girl. I live in Northwestern Wyoming! I want to write more and have lots of conversations, but I guess that will have to wait for tomorrow. Right now I am in the Big City (about 90 miles from home) at a Fed-Ex shipping some packages and decided I wanted to come say Hi! :D
