We threw a couple of thermal rests on the deck and slept under the stars. It was wonderful! The stars were amazing even with that almost full moon out. Then came a beautiful display of clouds. Even saw a couple of shooting stars. JoAnn

Oh I love doing that! Soon it will be too late in the season to do that!

Ah, the Northwest.....too many bugs here unless you're screened in tight. Feels like Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom where he's swarmed in the cave. Yeeks! Come colder weather, though, this is a perfect place for moongazing!

I love the sound of bugs in the south, and the lightning bugs, we hardly ever hear bugs here. The bees are wonderful though, big and robust! Well and we have mosquitoes, the denizens of Alaska!! Oh, I have an idea for a post, Jen, how about a word a day, maybe that doesn't work in an outpost area, but here I go.....

denizen\DEN-uh-zuhn\,noun"
1. A dweller; an inhabitant.
2. One that frequents a particular place.
3. {Chiefly British} An alient granted certain rights of citizenship.
4. An animal, plant, etc. that has become naturalized.

I love great words........ moongazing...... the moon was amazing the other night. jo

I think that's a great idea, Jo! How about we start it in, say, "Campfire Tales"?? It doesn't get enough visits anyway, and great stories are made of great words, right? Go for it, girl...

(and, yes, the cicadas, katydids, & lightening bugs are wonderful - I missed their songs out west)
